“Mastering Low Light”- An insightful low light photography workshop organised by MMC department in collaboration with ‘Canon’

May 14, The MMC department at GEHU, organized a workshop themed ‘Mastering Low Light’ in collaboration with Canon India. The session was led by Mr. Virendra Adhikari, a Canon photo mentor and a professional photography mentor, known for leading over 350 workshops and training more than 16,000 participants. The workshop covered the basics of photography, advanced low-light techniques, and an introduction to the astrophotography, with Mr. Adhikari sharing examples from his past work experiences. 

Participants explored an array of photography ranging from portrait, landscape, street, and event photography, all while learning how to take shots in a low-light setting. Special focus was given to learning ISO, shutter speed, and aperture, and how they work together to produce high-quality images in dim lighting conditions. 

The workshop also emphasized on the importance of taking ownership of one’s photography, especially while photographing others. It also highlighted Uttarakhand as an ideal and famous locations for astrophotography.The practical, hands-on approach of the session and expert guidance provided the participants with valuable learning experiences making it educational and inspiring.
