On the 13th of May, the English Department brought the campus alive with color, character, and creativity through a spectacular Cosplay Competition that will be remembered for years to come. It wasn’t just an event—it was an explosion of imagination, performance, and storytelling. The event was graced by a highly competent and diverse jury: Ms. Shivani Pant, Performance Manager at John Wiley & Sons (USA), and Mr. Navneet Gairola, a multifaceted theatre artist, teacher, and radio presenter. Their discerning eyes judged each participant on three key criteria:
– Stage Presence
– Originality
– Overall Performance

And what a show it was! From Geet’s chirpy charm to Paro’s graceful poise, from Diljit Dosanjh’s vibrant bhangra moves to the intense vibes of Incubus, the stage witnessed an unforgettable parade of personas. There were portrayals as diverse as a serene Biblical Angel, and the mysterious Adi from Bhool Bhulaiyaa—originally played by Akshay Kumar. Every performance was met with thunderous applause, and the audience was truly swept away by the immersive energy of the participants. But among these dazzling portrayals, a few stood out for their sheer brilliance and storytelling power:

– Kalyug, played by Praveen (BBA), delivered a profound and haunting performance. His portrayal was not just a costume—it was a commentary, a reflection of modern times, and a powerful act that held a mirror up to our era. His depth and seriousness gave the audience pause, making it one of the most thoughtful entries of the day.
– Cleopatra, brought to life by Kriti Rawat (BA English Honours), was a vision of elegance, strength, and charisma. With grace in every step and conviction in every word, Kriti embodied the legendary Egyptian queen in a way that left the audience captivated.
– Hitler, portrayed by Rohan (B.Design – Animation and Gaming), made a grand, theatrical entrance that instantly grabbed the room’s attention. It was bold, commanding, and brilliantly enacted—earning him a place among the top performers of the evening.
The event reached its emotional and artistic peak with a spellbinding musical performance by Parth, Shivam, and Anchal. Their powerful voices lit up the stage, adding depth and emotion to the overall spectacle. In the end, the cosplay competition wasn’t just about costumes or performances. It was about stepping into someone else’s world—even if just for a few minutes—and owning it completely. It was about voice, emotion, posture, and imagination coming together to create magic. Kudos to the English Department for organizing an event that celebrated creativity in such a dynamic and inclusive way. The participants didn’t just act—they transformed. And the audience? They were lucky to witness it all.
